2016

Founded In 2016

GFP was founded in 2016 by entrepreneur Alex van den Berg.

Being a superbike racer himself, and competing at National-level, he identified a gap in the market for affordable, readily available high-quality aftermarket motorcycle parts and accessories.

Alex took the first step and sourced the correct products that met the criteria and put them through personal R&D on his race bikes.

This would also benefit him in the long run, by providing him with an edge when it came to product knowledge.

Precise feedback was one of Alex's primary focuses in order to aid his knowledge of what’s being sold, thus improving after-sale services.

Alex started a small distribution office in Cape Town which supplied both the end-user as well as reputable motorcycle dealers and workshops nationwide.

2018

2018

By 2018, GFP saw a massive spike in growth and demand for its products which allowed room for expansion.

GFP has since then relocated to Johannesburg where most of the demand was coming from.
The increased demand for GFP products saw the expansion of its high-quality product range which was also made readily available to distributors and well-known motorcycle outlet stores.

These parts were also made available to the end user at a fixed price rate to avoid undercutting and inconveniencing those who stocked GFP Products.

2020

2020

Said to be one of GFP's most prosperous years, a major addition to the GFP brand was added when another gap in the market was identified.

Being in the Motorcycle Racing business and industry, we came across horror stories of clients of ours purchasing race bikes online which did not match what was being advertised.

Without the necessary knowledge and experience, it ended up costing them a lot of money and upsets.

This is when GFP decided to open a first-of-its-kind online classifieds website where we personally view and purchase motorcycles that meet a certain standard.

We then completely strip, inspect and change items that need replacement and drastically improve the overall safety, functionality, and appearance of the motorcycle.

We then serve as reputable, well-known and experienced sellers of Track & Road Orientated Motorcycles that also offer after-sale services to avoid the common tendencies of private sales.

Within the first year, GFP had sold over 100 Motorcycles and are now leading sellers in the Track-Orientated Motorcycle Market.

2021

2021

GFP decided to take another step in establishing itself in the South African Racing fraternity, by forming its very own “Team GFP’ Superbike Race Team where they compete in racing series all over South Africa.

One of the Team GFP riders managed to claim a championship in its very first attempt.

Team GFP continues to grow and shows no signs of slowing down.

2022

2022

GFP had firmly established itself as one of South Africa’s fastest-growing motorcycle performance and accessory brands.

With the continued growth of GFP Superbike Accessories and the launch of our full-scale eCommerce platform, GFP rapidly expanded its online presence nationwide. Our online store grew to offer over 4,000 products across more than 25 premium local and international motorcycle brands, supplying riders, workshops, dealerships, and racing enthusiasts throughout South Africa.

As demand continued to increase, GFP focused heavily on expanding its product range, building stronger supplier relationships, and introducing new performance parts and accessories to the South African market.

By this stage, GFP had also successfully sold over 100 motorcycles through its specialized motorcycle division, further cementing its reputation within the track and road motorcycle industry.

With strong foundations now in place, GFP continues to grow with the vision of becoming South Africa’s leading destination for motorcycle parts, accessories, performance products, and track-focused motorcycles.

2023

2023

2023 marked another major milestone for GFP with the launch of our dedicated Carbon Fiber range — which has since grown into one of the largest and most extensive motorcycle carbon fiber offerings in South Africa.

Driven by increasing demand for premium lightweight performance and styling components, GFP significantly expanded its product catalogue and supplier network, offering riders access to high-quality carbon fiber parts across a wide range of motorcycle brands and models.

By this stage, the GFP online store had grown to over 7,000 products across more than 35 premium motorcycle brands, further strengthening our position within the South African motorcycle aftermarket industry.

2023 also saw GFP begin collaborating with selected riders, content creators, and motorcycle influencers within the local biking community, helping increase brand awareness and further establish GFP as a trusted and recognizable name among road riders, track riders, and motorcycle enthusiasts nationwide.

With continued growth across both the performance parts and motorcycle sales divisions, GFP remained focused on expanding its product range, improving customer experience, and bringing world-class motorcycle products to the South African market.

2024

2024

2024 was a landmark year for GFP, reflecting the continued growth, trust, and support from the South African motorcycle community.

During the year, GFP surpassed over 100 verified 5-star Google reviews, reinforcing our reputation for product knowledge, customer service, and after-sale support within the motorcycle industry.

Our online store expanded to over 9,500 products from more than 45 leading motorcycle brands, offering one of the most comprehensive selections of motorcycle parts, accessories, riding gear, and performance products in South Africa.

Significant improvements were also made to GFP’s logistics and ordering systems, allowing for a smoother and more efficient customer experience nationwide. These operational upgrades helped streamline product sourcing, order processing, and delivery times for both in-stock and supplier-based products.

By this stage, GFP had successfully sold approximately 200 motorcycles through its motorcycle sales division, continuing to build a strong reputation within both the track and road motorcycle markets.

2024 also marked a major achievement for the business, with GFP becoming one of South Africa’s top-performing resellers for over seven premium motorcycle brands — further solidifying our standing within the local motorcycle aftermarket industry.

With continued expansion across all divisions, GFP remained focused on delivering premium products, trusted service, and a growing range of world-class motorcycle brands to riders across South Africa.

2025

2025

By 2025, GFP had firmly established itself as one of South Africa’s leading online motorcycle performance and accessory destinations.

With the business continuing to evolve, the GFP platform expanded to over 15,000 products across 56 premium motorcycle brands, offering riders an even wider selection of performance parts, accessories, riding gear, and carbon fiber products.

To further improve the customer experience, GFP upgraded its website infrastructure and web hosting systems, resulting in faster website performance, improved reliability, and a smoother shopping experience for customers nationwide.

During this period, GFP also surpassed over 250 motorcycle sales through its motorcycle division, continuing to strengthen its reputation within both the road and track motorcycle markets.

2025 also marked the return of GFP founder Alex van den Berg to competitive motorcycle racing, reconnecting the business even further with its racing roots and passion for the sport.

Alongside racing, GFP increased its involvement in supporting and sponsoring upcoming riders and young talent within the South African motorcycle racing community — helping contribute to the future growth of the sport locally.

Rather than focusing purely on rapid expansion, GFP made the strategic decision to prioritize customer experience, service quality, long-term relationships, and strengthening the foundations already built over the years. This approach allowed the business to focus more closely on its clients, existing partnerships, and delivering a more refined overall experience to the motorcycle community.
